"Split Rock Lighthouse" 295-piece plywood constructor

The Mataafa storm of November 27-28, 1905, claimed the lives of 36 sailors on 29 wrecked vessels, including the schooner barge Madeira, which sank on the rocks of Silver Bay, Minnesota. After this tragedy, the decision was made to build a lighthouse in the area to guide future mariners. Perched on a 41-meter-high sheer cliff, the Split Rock Lighthouse, first lit on July 31, 1910, became an instant tourist attraction and remains one of the most beautiful and visited lighthouses in the United States.

Ugears' Split Rock Lighthouse model is a beautiful wooden reproduction of the iconic Minnesota beacon, featuring an octagonal tower and a keeper’s house.

The model has a warm LED light, which can be used as a nightlight in your home, office, or child’s room. The power source is either USB-C (via phone charging) or three AA batteries. The charging port and on/off switch are located near the base of the model. Changing the batteries is easy, as they are located in a special tray under the model. The LED light can also be replaced by twisting off the cupola from the tower.

Made from high-quality 3mm composite wood, the model’s dimensions are 19.8 × 24 × 11.6 cm, the ideal size for a nightstand. The keeper’s house and tower have windows, along with a chimney and a staircase at the entrance. Laser engraving gives the exterior surfaces a realistic stone and brick appearance. The cupola can be removed from the tower by twisting it off, the keeper’s house door opens and shuts with a rubber band mechanism, and the curtains on the windows move when tilted.

The Split Rock Lighthouse is an intermediate-level model with 295 parts, offering more than six hours of engaging build time. The kit includes natural composite wood parts, laser pre-cut, electrical components, LED light, sandpaper, and wax for smoothing and lubricating the pieces. Assembly does not require glue or special tools—simply push the pieces out of the boards and snap them together following the step-by-step instructions available in 11 languages (including English, German, Ukrainian, French, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Italian, Chinese, and Korean). Be sure to check that the electrical components are functioning properly before proceeding with assembly.
